So I really should have just made photo collages... but since I didn't feel like it, each pic is individually posted! Feel free just to skip on through cause there are just so many pictures. I just wanted to have them on here for my memory and photo journal!
Aunt Jess works at Disneyland this semester and hooked us up big time this past weekend! We headed out to LA for Aaron's co-resident Stephen's wedding on Friday morning and we went to DIsneyland on Saturday. It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but we had a blast! Aunt Jess came prepared with Minnie Mouse ears and cute "first time visit" and Happy Birthday" pins for Aubrie. She was so excited to see Mickey!
Here she is looking at Minnie Mouse (not pictured)... we weren't sure how she would feel so we didn't get too close at first. She loved her though and couldn't stop smiling and waving!
Photo op on of the buildings along the side of Main Street!
My goofy face convincing Aubs they were nice...
First characters Aubrie met were Peter Pan and Wendy!
Sad story... her first ride was Snow White... it was so scary! Aaron had to cover her eyes pretty much the entire time. She was so sad and scared.
We thought we'd lighten things up with a carousel ride after the dreadful Snow White ride... but she must have been pretty shaken up b/c she wouldn't ride on the horse... so Aaron just sat with her on the bench!
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was next! BIG MISTAKE! Why did we have no idea that it was totally scary?!!!! It had bombs and TNT blasts and strobe lights and was pretty much pitch black the entire time we were in there. Poor baby was grasping onto us for dear life and so sad that we put her through that. We really had no idea or recollection of any of these being scary rides. Now we know! Geez!
After that Aaron made a joke that we should just take her on all the scary rides so she hates Disneyland and would never want to go back.
It was funny, but we knew it wasn't going to happen... so we took her on....
...lucky for all of us she warmed up to it within the last few minutes! I am pretty sure she couldn't ignore the happy music and dancing dolls all around her! Still no BIG smiles, but definitely no sad faces or screaming!
Mickey's house in Toon Town was great! She loved every minute of it! Finally we felt better about her experience!
She got her "Minnie Money"= a flattened penny at the penny arcade and loved looking around at all the toys and machines!
We weren't surprised when she fell asleep shortly after. The time change from Dallas and the flight and not a full night's sleep for 2 nights before D-LAND finally caught up with her. So... Jess, Aaron and I went to lunch at a Taqueria in Downtown Disney. It was delish. Jess and I had tacos and Aaron had a burrito.
Aaron's friend from school told him to try the Beignet's (A french donut covered in powdered sugar) from Brennan's in Downtown Disney, so we topped off our lunch with a little dessert. Here is Aaron showing them off. They were greasy but tasted great! :)
While Aubs was sleeping we went to the Lego store to check it out and ran into a LARGE giraffe. It was seriously huge and crazy to think of all the legos that went into making it.
We took this with Aub's buddy Woody so we could show her later!
The we headed over to California land. The weather was so nice we thought we'd stroll around til she woke up and then we'd head back to Vegas after one last ride. Here we are standing in front of a backdrop. The street ended just a few feet from where we were standing!
She finally woke up and was happy when she saw the man holding a huge bunch of balloons!
My cuties checking out the waterfall. Aubs is fascinated by water and anything that has to do with it.
So... we headed over to Heimlich's choo choo train in A Bug's Life land (or whatever it is called) and on our way we found water spouts and stopped for a little fun of course. Aubrie loved it and fell on the ground and got more wet than she did from the water hitting her. It was pretty funny!
SHe was definitely scared when the train started and Aaron quickly passed her off to her Aunt Jess so she could calm her down. She did great and listened as Aunt Jess narrated the entire ride for her. It was so cute. We were pretty tired after that so we decided to head home... until we saw a cute photo op.
Please excuse my crazy face... Aubs actually loved seeing the characters up close. She petted Pluto and kept waving to him.
The Chip N Dale came walking up so we couldn't pass up another picture! Aubs totally gave Chip (on the right) a high five and petted them and said hi. When we were walking away she said, "bye bye bunnies..." or something funny like that. I didn't correct her right away. She loved them.
We're all A's... until this October! :)
We picked up a couple of Caramel Apples at Disneyland b/c I really couldn't stop thinking about them and Jess picked the cutest Minnie Mouse apple... so I took a picture.
Last picture of the day on the bus back to the Toy Story Parking lot!
She had lots of fun (minus Snow White and Mr. Toad) and we got to hear about Minnie's (really Mickey's) house for the first 45 minutes of our drive home! Success.
